I've been working on a re-vamp of an existing air-to-water heat-pump design. It uses R-134a refrigerant.

The refrigerant loop has been re-designed, but now the control logic & electrical logic have to be reviewed.

The original design had a very simple on-off control philosophy which cut the system when target temperature is reached & re-started after the hysteresis drop had occurred. Only one input temperature is monitored. The system seems reasonably solid as it runs - but, it is unproven in the long haul as the units originated from a company who has since gone out of business (bad financial management) :(

We have two designs - single phase & 3-phase. We have wiring diagrams for both setups.

I'd like to find information on comparative systems, their control logic, & electrical logic. I'd like to investigate bringing in a few more inputs & managing the system onto optimum COP.

If anyone can point me towards useful links & reading material, wiring diagrams, good electrical consultants & so forth, I'd be most grateful. Thanks for your kind assistance.
