New product~testing~certification

Hi, I have designed a new product that I wish to sell to the commercial/public sectors (in UK) but what I do not know is, what sort of testing should I be looking into with regard to the refrigeration side of things and also electrical side? I designed the product two years ago and it has been sitting in my garage on test for pretty much all this time, I'm happy with it's operation.

Basically, I would like certification that the equipment is safe. What certification would I need to try cover my arse legally if you see what I mean?
