Smelly Jelly doesn't last very long but none of the similar products will last much longer. It is both an air freshener and biocide. The more condensate your customers system kicks out the faster the smelly jelly will disolve.

Hi Britcit
Interesting I didn,t realise it was a biocide as well, that explains the cost.

Bernard,
You should try Frionett Clim, it is also good for getting rid of smells from A/C.
RPW and SRW sell it:)

We also sell those pads: they are made by a jelly polymer which dissolves in water and releases Silver and copper ions.
It's clear the more condensate, the quicker it dissolves.

Hi All,
A Collegue (Is that the correct spelling) of mine sprays the filters with fabric conditioner dilluted in water and all his customers love it.

I've found the blue smelly jelly to give good results but stay away from the yellow one. (citrus)
After a few months its been in and when they change the cassette over to heating it can smell of cat p*ss!!:D

So it goes at the bottom of the evaporator coil almost in the drain pan?
It goes IN the drain pan, wet by condensate.

Smelly Jelly is only a fragrance, its not a biocide. Normally put on discharge air will evaporate according to use and temperature. No mention in litrature to put in drain pan.I would use as a last resort after cleaning drain pan.condensate pipe and filters if odours still persist.

Did you find out where did the odour comes from? Usually it is not from the aircon. Just because the aircon re-circulate the air in the room people suspects aircon is the culprit.
