VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) and VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) stands for exactly the same working principle.
Only, Daikin registered the abbrevation VRV.

VRF or Variable Refrigerant Flow is the technology being applied by manufacturer’s such as Samsung, Hitachi, Daikin, etc.

VRV is the trade name for Daikin’s VRF product lines. Hitachi uses Set Free, while Mitsubishi uses Mr. Slim. These are trade names for VRF the uses inverter compressors.

Samsung uses DVM, Midea uses MDV, while Trane uses TVR. These VRF technologies however use Digital Scroll Compressors which is a new technology in the market.

...............and they can keep it.

I'm going to sell an LG for a laugh tomorrow.

Client " I want cheapest deal you can do for some air conditioning."

Me "Cheapest isn't best"

Client "I just want cheapest"

Ok then, i will give him want he wants, cheap air conditioning.
If i don't someone else will, there's a credit crunch on you know.
I'll give him a 35 minute warranty, exactly the time it takes me to GTF out of Liverpool.
