Consultants for a client I know are insisting that AC condensate drainage water is treated as foul waste. I'm told this is a regulation due to the possibility of Legionaires bacteria being present in the condensate water. Does anyone know which regulation is being cited here? The knock-on effect is the popular method of taking condensate, be it gravity or pumped, to outside where it can soak away or to a rwp is/will no longer be allowed by law!

I would suggest that your client gets his consultant to provide the documentation to back up this claim.

As all condensate from an ac unit should be below the +20°C bug limit I don't really see a problem.

Mind you I could be completely wrong and will be shot down in flames shortly :)
