Basically a screw is best suited for larger constant loads.
If sized correctly they are extremely reliable and efficient.
But their duty / working range is generally less flexible.
Meaning for fluctuating loads over a large range.
I would recommend other types.
The design usage is paramount.
But as a compressor they are as good or as bad.
As any other type.
Don't take these comments literally as there are ALLWAYS exceptions to the rule.
For example.. Variable speed drive screw compressors cover a larger operating range.
But usually have a larger footprint!
I hope this has helped.
