Hello chaps, need some advise on an ice machine. Went to do some pre-season maintenance on various fridge equipment at a caravan/holiday park, and came across a largish simag type ice machine in many pieces. Looks like somebody has had a go at cleaning it at the end of last season, with some kind of chemical and got bored with it.
When I got to look at it there was no water supply because of burst pipes during the recent cold snap. The sump still had some water in so I turned it on. Machine appeared to run alright but still had chemical which foamed up into a greyish goo.
I have to go back there this week now the water supply has been reconnected, what would be the best thing to flush it with, or would just clean fresh water be enough?
