City Multi Question

I havn't got much experience on these units so anyway I have to recover a charge from a VRV system tomorrow.

Do I have to change any dip switches or other settings to force all valves open before I start recovering?

No special dip setting needed
Just connect recovery mc to both service valves at outdoor unit

Y series recover from both service valves. If LEV valves at indoor open or shut still get all the refrigerant out ok.

R2 series still get all the refrigerant out as BC box all solenoid valve pistons have bleed orifice which allow refrigerant recovery & evacuation even if indoor unit LEV valves are shut provided recover & evacuate from both service valves at outdoor unit.

So no need for any special evacuation mode set up as with some other 3 pipe systems where indoor units need LEV valve set open to recover & evacuate.
