Do you know anything about superheat and subcooling?

Then do some reading quickly because it will enable you to do some fault finding and to understand the system operation a little better.

Also, telling us a pressure is meaningless. It's like me saying that I have a green car, what make is it?

We need to know the refrigerant type, liquid temperature, superheat, subcooling, etc.

Than do search on this forum for that terms and read threads on that subject as much as you can.
Also, I recommend Gary's books (https://www.merchantamerica.com/tmethod/) and this book (http://www.amazon.com/Troubleshooting-Servicing-Conditioning-Refrigeration-Systems/dp/1930044062).

Currently at college myself so here come what may be a couple of daft questions.

When you switch off the fridge does the gas pressure equalise and does it take a long time to do this?

Have you made sure that heat exchange surfaces are clean and clear?
