My BMW a/c is noisy,noise increases with speed any ideas(51 plate 318ci)

It is common thing that something what revolves has higher noise when it is on high revolutions. ;)
Just kidding!

Could be drive belt or compressor clutch slipping!

Is it a mechanical noise or is it the drive belt squealing ?

If it mechanical then it could be bearings beginning to fail in the compressor or similar.

Squealing is a loose drive belt.

Is it a whistling sound that seems to come from inside the dashboard? It could be the expansion valve.
