Hi guys,

I searched but found nothing difinitive on this.
I assume the diy a/c's which use the pre-charged lines and clunk click connections are still legal to install.

What about the many systems seen on line described as self install which supply the pre-insulated / flared lines?
Some of these actually SHOW the lines being purged after being connected - illegal surely!

Also, what if the diyer at least tries to be competant and borrows / hires a vac pump, so they are not actually purging the lines? What's the legality of that?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know at the moment the only legal requirement is that you do not release refrigerant into the atmosphere.

Hopefully Argus will follow up on this thread as well.
