Is it a legal requirement to have the amount of gas in each system recorded

Yes it is; and the type.

It should all be kept in the equipment register.

My understanding of the question was for each system ie every system irrespective of size, gas etc. F-gas relates to only those gases covered and only for systems above 3kg, which is why I asked for a link.

I agree, I have the misfortune of looking after a site with over a hundred versatemp units, and was informed then that the register only applies to systems 3kg and above.
I guess that we shall all find out when we sit the new safe handling exams!!

Is there a chart for pipesize- length - bends to allow me to calculate the weight Kg of gas in pipework.

Don't you think that gas weight depend on density, which depends on temperature. And, what with mixture of gas and liquid in pipe?

You could use Coolpack software for calculation of liquid and gas flow in pipes and fittings! From that you could estimate/calculate weight.

To enable the calculation of weight Kg in pipework (R407C) to be added to the condenser - compresser. Is there not a chart giving the weight for various diameters of pipes listing the kg/m in a liquid line.

If you have Excel, it is easily calculated from pipe dimensions and density.

Tables you could find here at page 11:

And even more, corrective actions you've taken to prevent a new leak.
And... a compulsory second control within a month to verify if your repair was OK.

That's correct and 6 kg and above for factory hermetic made units (like monoblocs, chillers,...).
I'm a jury member and chairman of the Jury in th Dutch speaking part of Belgium, so if you have questions...
You can find everything you need to know in the new EN378-2008.

I was of the understanding that this part was/is dropped as not being viable?

If not or it is not going to be dropped what is meant by-

Translated from Dutch: The applications must be controlled on leakage within 1 month after repair of the leak to ensure that initial repair was effective.

Take a look at this calculator / spreadsheet off the Defra website.

I have done calculation with this spreadsheet on one chiller and calculated minimum is 12kg and max 20kg.
System actualy have 7,5kg of refrigerant.
