There are two Mitsubishi AC manufacturers in the world, and their AC are pretty much different, so what M we are talking about here?
Also, Small split systems Carier is Toshiba now! What Carier is then?;)

well vote as you please on that one but MLA and Mitsi will still be in the same category, you can't really help aquisition and mergers of companies in the industry.
if we want to get technical LG manufacture for Dimplex also.
Email units have LG compressors in some of them, all of the manufacturers are intermixed really so you don't really know what you are going to get..
and there are other mergers within this group..aswell.

it is all about market share. who owns the most pie.

I used to be a big fan of Daikin but recently, their technical back up and waiting times on spare parts has been pretty poor. So for that reason i would have to say Mitsubishi Electric for me. Their backup has been really good and we never have to wait long for spare parts.

The worst has to be lennox:rolleyes:

We don't see Carriers here (in my country), more than one or two time in life time.
These, you are referring here guys, are there real Carriers or Toshiba's with Carrier badges?

They're different here, carrier used to be carrier, then stuck the carrier badge on cheap generic chinese a/cs, toshiba is sold by carrier, but toshiba has always been toshiba, I've never seen a carrier badge on a toshiba. But things may be differant there, and I haven't had to look at any new carriers or toshibas, just 4yo+ ones

Also is email still around there?
I only deal with the old emails (their own ducted, or the email splits with were the same as fujitsus). Email changed name to airwell here.

Plenty of 10 y/o fujitsu-generals still running, plenty of daikins break down the minute the warranty has run out. Plenty of panas have indoor fan problems, airwells are a major pain to get parts for, I don't work with mits, hitachi, LG, or toshiba that much to know all there faults, but I repair a fair few of them for various reasons.
Fujitsu has the best service here, can order easily over email or fax.
LG is too hard to get hold of, have to go through 3rd party suppliers that take weeks to supply parts.
pana can be the same.
mitsubishi you have to order over the phone direct, can be on hold for a long time, hang up try another day etc etc, you could be up for $20 in mobile phone calls before you get through, but after you get through everything is quick.
Daikin isn't bad, but as I have no parts manuals, the ordering process is rather drawn out too.
Carrier/toshiba, the dealer in parts here (totaline) hardly answer the phone and if I'm unlucky, I get the guy who screws me over big time on price and service.

Pretty much it's only fujitsu that answers emails, accepts orders through emails, and sells direct to non account holders that wins the day. I'm not saying that just because I know the equip well and have some manuals for them, but because they make it easier for me to order parts after hours and always reply.
2nd would be daikin, you aren't normally left on hold for ages unlike mits, lg etc, if you phone during their business hours, they give you a part number and you order over the phone. Quickish, but annoying as I prefer to do my ordering after hours via email.

paul.. over on the east coast we use Temperzone found good overall performance range warranty etc etc etc...have one unit (osa226r) 1 condensor fan died has been running for about 3 weeks through high ambients with a piece of cardboard blanking off the failed fan (+40 c days) without a problem...as for email were distributed in australia by lovelocks who were brought out by heatcraft,,,you can still get parts through heatcraft but dont know if anyone is distributing them in aus.

icemaker, with that unit if you can't get parts for it i would be pulling the fan motor out and getting it rewound, that would be the quickest bet but if it is under warranty then you are entitled to a replacement part.
out of warranty, this is the cheapest option.

I tend to agree with Icemaker in that the Bradway/Temperzone range of gear are well engineered for high ambients in Australasia. As well they market the Mitsi Heavy Industries range of equipment as well, equally well engineered for local conditions.
Industrial equipment, cannot go past Mycom compressors.

fyi Toshiba and Carrier have been linked for 25+ years Toshiba would make Carrier units under the Toyo badge in the early '80's..

like I said, things may be different there. I've worked on plenty of carriers here that don't have a toshiba part in them.
I've never seen a toyo badge down here either.

the system has been quoted for a new motor and we are awaiting approval..these things take time (even a huge aluminium producer doesnt want to spend money in these times)..its a funny system working here subcontracting for an fm co and it takes time to get orders out of them

i would tend to agree with marc5180 daikin was my favourite but when there tech people tell you they will ring you back in five minutes and dont and then wont answer there phone when you ring them back  that made me manufacturers but still have some daikins out there running away 24/7after 10 years

yeah in regards to calling people back it would probably just be self management on one persons behalf really as most of the techs would call you back with the information that you needed.
Most technical lines are busy with a lot of time wasters also that want a diagnosis and they haven't even had a look at it themselves...

my experiences with them have been ok, but that must have just been a good day.
I find that they tend to take lunch around 12 -1pm so that is the worst time to call.
