I'm after a new manifold gauge set. Has anyone used Yellow Jacket Brute for R410a? Are they any good? Are they available in Bar/celsius units.

Cheers

I have the DigiCool built for Yellow Jacket. Really easy to use and accurate.

Check out yellow jacket brute 2 manifold gauges
there's a few variations depending what refrigerants you most commonly come across
they are not digital
they have 4 hoses so when recovering there's no need to swap hoses etc
just google it it will probably be the 2nd search result on the first page
hope that helps

I have tried recently the Testo 556-1 and especially if you are working on big chillers equipped with EEV it is in my opinion the right tool.

It is including the data of all the refrigerants on the market (except NH3, you need a different model) and with the right options is giving you the direct calculation of subcooling and superheating on the display (and it is extremely fast and accurate).

I was quite skeptical about the electronic manifold but I'm slowly changing my mind.

The very big disadvantage of this "toy" is the cost (if I'm not wrong a mid level version with two standard temperature sensors and two wireless temperature sensor costs around 2500,00 €).

I've got the Brute II, they have been a decent set except the the high side valve seems to leak, replaced the stem twice so now I thing it is the manifold housing itself.
Getting a digital set soon.

HI guys,

thanks for the feedback, I've finally ordered a set. Brute 2, not easy to find in the UK. If anyone's interested 410a BAR CELCIUS part no. is 46160. Derbyshire refrigeration 01159 382555. I was told by Ritchie they are the only UK supplier.
Hopefully they won't leak:mad:

Not true... Air Conditioning Accessories in Trafford Park Manchester are also a Yellow Jacket supplier, i bought two brute manifold sets from there about a year ago.
