Hi;

I am a student in Univercity for MS degree and I am working on CO2, I designed a cascade system with CO2 and R-404A for the test.

Do you suggest any thing to me before charge the CO2 to the system for security during the filling? Or is there any installation manual for commisioning and charrge the CO2 to sytem?

Thank in advance for your replies.

Regards;

* first make sure you have a vacuum pump to 62 microns on the CO2 system
* since it is a cascade system you are in the sub-critical CO2 applications, your design working pressure I am assuming to be 400 psi, you should have an ASME relief valve to protect the CO2 system.
* inspect the relief valve and its location to reduce the possibility of liquid passing through the triple point and solidifying in the relief valve outlet [review B52 code for proper installation]
* you must charge the CO2 [R744] system in the vapour phase until the pressure has reached 70 psig [ 4.8 bars] min.
