Unable to locate U.S. source for a pulley spreader tool used to hold two pulleys apart when tightening up v-belt. Curved bar ends attached to threadrod and turnbuckle style hex bar in center. Allows 1 man install of v-belts safely. Really appreciate ANY help on my search. Young counter help think I'm nuts. Maybe they are right but it helps to be a little off center to do this job !!! Hope everyone out there has a better tomorrow. Thanks in advance. :p

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried not only them but 4 diff. parts shops. Also called my own mechanic. All responses have been the same. No one seems to know what I mean. Tried 3 mail order companies too. So far, no luck. May need to go to my machine shop and just have one made. Will keep looking for a while. Thanks again.:)

Is this tool (http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/otc7654.html) what you need?

I don't think thats the one, but he's on the right track. I know that we all do it by hand or using a larger screwdriver, a tool like that would be helpfull, but do I want to put that in my tool bag? nope

I often use a small bottle jack or scissor car jack to spread the pulleys. It depends, of course, on being able to get them in place
