Hi Reefer Mechanic,

I got alarm55 when PTI on it, Evap motor high speed failure. I performd manual function test for motors, the current reading are 2.0-1.9-2.0 amps.
This unit equip 2pcs of evaporator motors. The CFG U is 5013, CFG C is 9, it is same to others. I don't know why this alarm be appear.

thanks.

Hi Lee,

Below mationed what can you do for this problem.

55
High Speed Evaporator Fan Failure (Pre-Trip)
(Check or Shutdown Alarm)

• Indicates evaporator fan current draw is not within
acceptable limits when fans are in high speed.

• Controller also generates alarm if cooling capacity
is not sufficient.

• If alarm occurs during a pre-trip test, a dash (-)
precedes the alarm code.

• Check for low supply power voltage.

• Check high speed evaporator fan current draw
using AMPS EFH" in the Electrical Test
submenu. Current draw should be 2 to 4.5
amperes at 480V for 3 fans. Current draw on
each leg should be within 0.2 amperes of each
other.

• If current draw is high, check evaporator fan
motors for free rotation and proper condition.
Check direction of fan rotation
(counterclockwise) as shown by directional
arrows. Check for obstructions to evaporator
airflow.

• Visually inspect evaporator fan high speed
contactor.

• If contactor does not energize, check output
module using "AMPS EFH" in the Electrical Test
submenu. Then confirm that output LED AC12 is
On.

• If current draw on each leg is not within 0.2
amperes of each other during current draw test,
check the current transformer. Turn unit Off and
disconnect power supply. Disconnect plug on
current transformer and check the resistance of
each primary winding. Resistance for each
winding should be 43 ± 0.5 ohms.

• Check refrigeration system for obstructions or
low refrigerant charge.

Best Regards.

Hi Reefer Mechanic,
I think the current reading is in normal range for 2pcs of evaporator motors. But I think the CFG U should be differ to units which equiped 3pcs of evaporator motors. How do you think?
Thanks.

Hi Lee,
Attached config setting.
I think you should check current sensor and software version ( 11.79 newest ) too.

Hi Reefer mechanic,
Thanks for your kindly reply.
I think the current 2.0 amps is correct for the 2pcs motor unit. But the difference in each phase is larger than 0.2 amperes. So this alarm be triggered. The current sensor maybe defective.
