Called to a site today Guys.
Where the evaporator was truly iced up.
To the point where you could not get the filters out!
Anyway after trying to use the fans to defrost the evap.
I advised the client that I would need scaffold or ladders to access the outdoor condenser.
As it was on brackets at about 12ft height and I assumed it may be short of gas.
At this point I switched the fixed wall stat and went outside.
To find the condensing unit running!!!!
I asked the customer to go back inside and kill the power on the internal isolation switch.
Guess what the condenser carried on running!
My assumption (without further investigation) is.
Either the compressor contactor has stuck in?
Or something to do with the control circuit powering it?
Is this type of unit Technically involved or is it simple like I assume?
Any ideas guys!
