Hi guys
I previously asked you guys for some help with pentane tables, thanks Brian_UK for your response.
I have been unable to find any R123, R245fa, and so far n-pentane in South Africa. What I have found with similar properties is R141b. Has anyone had any dealings with this? It is generally used for foam-blowing from what I understand.
What I'm looking to do is build an Organic Rankine Cycle,
1. liquid refrigerant is pumped from atmospherics to a pressure of 10bar,
2. it is then superheated using solar water heaters to between 120 and 200°C,
3. after that it is passed through a turbine getting out mechanical power,
4. from there it is condensed back to a liquid and the process starts over
Anyone see any problems with using this fluid at the high temperature.
Can copper piping be used?
The pump that I'm looking to use has Viton seals, I'm a bit worried about the compatibility as well as the lubrication, what oils should I use, if any?
The MSDS doesn't give too much info
