Does someone have the refrigeration layout of this machine in heatpump version?
The manual I have show only the additional hydronic unit and the external physical dimensions.

Peter,

Try this manual from

http://www.uk.carrier.com/products/Chiller_HeatPumps/30RQ262_522.htm

Click on the 'Product Information' link under the picture and download the Installation and Maintenance Manual.

Refrigerant line diagram on page 30.

Thanks Brian,
This is not quit what I was looking after.
I will explain what's happening: I'm having a judicial case for the Court and within 2 weeks is my first visit on site.
I want to be prepared.

The machine has 5 compressors, connected 3 together and 2 together.
There are 3 V-shaped condenser coils: 1 is connected to the 2 compressors and the 3 compressors are connected to the remaining 2 condensers.
There's one tube and shell evaporator with - as I've seen on the papers- a split circuit of 50/50%.
This seems for me a strange combination.

There are 3 machines on this site.
Problem is that on 2 of the 3 machines several compressors broke, apparently due to liquid slugging.

I don't see a suction accumulator and this machine goes also in heating mode. I wonder what happens when the machine switches from heating to cooling or vice-versa.

There is supposed to be an accumulator according to para 10.7 on page 25. (Still reading the IOM)

Refrigerant circuit
- Two independent refrigerant circuits
- Filter/refrigerant storage tank (Carrier patent) for
guaranteed compressor protection against liquid slugging.

Any good?

Thanks Multisync.
I suspect that you just may of helped peter with the manual.
Anyway I liked it and it is added to the archive,
so once again thanks.
Steve AKA Grizzly
(Unless this unit is critical charge Peter you are going to have a lot of liquid moving around.
As I suspect you already have assumed this! And I to would not be supprised to see compressor failures.)

Multisync, that was the manual I already got but there was no schematic in it.

They indeed mention the filter/refrigerant storage tank - what's a filter /refrigerant storage tank - but there must be a reason why these compressors break mechanically.

The contractor is almost sure it's liquid slugging.

Perhaps their guaranteed protection against liquid slugging is perhaps not that good as it should be.

What's the Carrier patent 'Compressor control box installed on the cold side of the compressor'?

Sorry Brian.
Obviously I am going to have to invest in a bigger and faster computer!
