I have a problem with a set of carrier 30 gx chillers on 134a tripping on oil level fault 55
i belive that it is caused from the separator or solinoid
do you know if the is a filter in this line
where on the comp is the level sensor fitted
all comment welcome

Hi JSimon
Not sure if this is an answer ur looking for - 80% of oil faults on carrier chillers I found to be short of gas, ie the oil is logged in evap.

I found this manual. It may be useful for you

The low oil pressure may be also the result of the oil pump check valve failure.

Jsimon.
Hi!
Many thanks to Narkom for the useful manual.

See Below. re attached file.
Yes there is a replaceable filter and yes there is a replaceable solenoid.
But if you read the description of fault 55.
I would interpret their explanation as the oil
or oil coolant pump is not running?
Or could it even be the chilled water pump not flowing?
Site inspection should answer this query!

55 Alarm
Cooler pump interlock Interlock closed when pump Cooler pump remains off. Manual Failure of cooler pump relay or
closed when pump off relay is off Unit prevented from starting. interlock, welded contacts.

Just may be you have a relay or contactor dropping out?

Noisy solenoids are they clonking when they open (may not be an issue)
Or are they buzzing (like the internal shuttle is moving up and down, or not as the case may be?)
This may be an issue?
I recommend further investigation related to any of the above!
