Well, using the wonders of Google I found a lot of freeware called Accalc for a PDA but AC Calc costs around £400 for a PC.

Why for free? Someone has taken the time and expense to develop this software and should be reimbursed for it, I use ACCALC and find it excellent, well worth investing in.

The people responsible for it are http://www.cliksoftware.com/pages/accalc.htm download a free trial issue, it is worth buying for your business.

IceI think you will find the trial edition is a limited use item, all I was saying was why should someone develop it and every bugger gets it for free, would you work for nothing?

OK, Contrary to Unix and Windows operating systems which need to be purchased and payed for, there is another fully working and again totally free of charge operating system. It is called Linux (http://www.linux.org/) (based on Unix) and you could always download it from web, free of charge. It has General Public License (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_General_Public_License) as well as many other software which can be installed on Linux (and Windows OS also).
Example of such software is a Open Office (http://download.openoffice.org/) (very simmilar as Microsoft Office program package and can work both ways with Office documents, but for free)!
Therefore it is not always necessary to pay for piece of software.
That doesn't mean that, if software creator want to charge for his software that we should not pay for it if we want that software.
That only mean that probably there is somewhere solution for free!
