:)Hi guys, looking for a little help with info on the electronic expansion valve option on the ycaj, namely the Danfoss phtq valve controlled by the Danfoss EKS 65 controller, circa 2001, I am getting flood back on both circuits, and need the info for setting/calibrating the EKS 65 to ensure proper superheat control.
Does any one know of any regular problems with these valves in this application? or is it the temperature sensors out of whack causing mal adjustment,

Dont mean to be picky, but I have checked everything else, i.e. the wax filled actuator, orifice cage, transducers, and resistance values for the thermistors, but have no reference data to check the thermistor accuracy?

Can any one offer advice, or links for the kit, the Danfoss site only gives up to date products unfortunately.

Welcome Tom.
If I remember correctly these can suffer from sensor issues.

Hopefully the attached pages may be of help.
I have more loose leaf data somewhere, I will see if I can find it tomorrow.

Hi Tom

Do you possibly have a description of signal lights on EKS 65

Hi Tom

Grizzly here.
Just in case Tom has yet to see this post.
On the front of the Controller there are three coloured LED's.

The Red power LED flashes as power is sent in 24vac pulse trains to the ptc circuit in the Q Actuator.

The Amber LED is on when the controller is above or below the set point reference.

The Green LED comes on and the amber goes off when the controller is in the neutral Zone around the set point reference
A useful tip with these controllers is if either sensor goes open or short circuit or goes out of range.
The valve will force close!
This will show up with the Red & Green LED's totally OFF and the AMBER LED ON.

I hope this helps?

Tom if you get the danfoss product code off the EKS, call dean&woods in Tallaght. Jacintha can get the Danfoss manual for those, with menus and PSWD.
I have it on paper (not on soft copy) or I would send it to you.
good luck

Hi Grizzly, Hope you can help with this, YCAJ again GSI, with the programme refrigerant message on it, I assume the back up battery on the realtime clock went flat and thecontrol was off for some time, but the panel wont allow me to enter the value, "22" any clues, I thought this model didnt have any passwords etc...

Tom

i think the password is 2876 or 7396, but if the battery went dead the board may need replacing.

we previously had this on boards that got wet, micro borad had to be replaced.

Press program and enter the code, hope this helps.

PM me if you need local assistance!

All Chillers have Passwords especially The bigger Guys.
In all fairness Al knows what he is talking about.
Give him a call,
He is a good chap!
