I haven't got either of them two, but I do have Electricity for refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning which is one of the other books from the amazon page.
It's quite a good book, I keep it in the van.
The only problem is that its quite erm, American. No offence to our friends across the pond. The book, and most refrigeration & a/c books usually are from the USA.
Its got good electrics basics and fault finding but they are based on american HVAC systems, you might come across the odd carrier/york motorised dustbin over here but the book is not up to date with modern inverter split a/c's like you work on over here in the uk.

thanks andy, as you point out it would be helpful if this book did include inverter info and PCB's, once i get some cash i think i will just take a pic at one and see how it goes!
