i hav a freezer that has lost its gas, the data plate shows that it takes 330g of r507 but it has a r404 compressor on it so will the charge be the same? 330g of r404a? Just need 2 know 2 price it up cos aint heard of it? Thanks

yep is the same..find first the leak,fix it and then charge it..

although the same we prefer the 507 than other.temperature glide,efficiency and many more advantage over 400 series of refrigerant with regards on low temp system.

R507 and R404a have the same two basic refrigerants in them. R404a has a tiny bit of R134a in it for commercial reasons, (to make it different to R507 so another company can market it).
Either refrigerant will do the same job, R507 is preferred.

The capacity of a plant with R404A will be about 3% higher than one working with R507A. ;-)

At least most of the european heat exchanger manufacturers refer to this factor in their catalogues.

It is the oposite. A compressor running with R507 have 3% increased capasity and 2% increased cop at the same operating conditions. I dont know the result on a complete plant.
