I have new an evaporator using TEV externally equallizer intalled in this unit. I want to test leakage using gas with high pressure about 10 bar and using detergent water. I will fill the gas from inlet TEV. Is it permitted ? Is TEV valve in open orifice or closed orifice in the ambient temperature. I buy TEV from danfoss type TE N 2. I'm worried the gas can not pass through TEV and I can not check leakage in the evaporator side and pipe externally equalizer that is connected in the out of evaporator tube because there is no pressure inside tube. Please need your advice

Hello Cewek

The gas will pass through the TEV ok but it will be a little slow.

TE2 N is for r134a so why 10 bar test pressure for leakage. Please check manufacturer recommendations for maximum.

here is a link for the TE2

about the 10 bar of 134a I allways thought we used ofn for oressure testing

With 134a you can pressure test to about 13bar
and yes pressure testing is done with OFN but sometimes
if the leak is small and hard to find then it has been known
to use some Helium because of the molecular size of the
134a.
