hi...

i have one doubt in my mind that
air washer and cooling tower works on same principle that is evaporative cooling then why does air washer cools air and cooling tower cools the water?
please explain me....

Its all down to quantity.
The air washer has a high qty of air to small amount of water so water all evaporates before air reaches saturation.
Cooling tower has high qty of water to air so reaches saturation before all water has evaporated.

Fine thnks. But do air and water temps have any effect on the working of both cooling tower and air washer?

Heat transfers from whichever is warmer to whichever is cooler.

In this case the main factor affecting performance it is the ambient relative humidity the higher the rh the less effective cooling tower .

Its all down to the air condition (temperature and humidity), the water temperature (effectively 100% humidity), the latent heat of evaporation.
In the air wash hot air is passed 'through' a water mist and the water droplets evaporate raising the humidity while lowering the temperature of the air out.
In the water tower the same thing is happening only the water will be at a higher temperature so you will also get some cooling due to the td between water and air.
An adiabatic humidifier also works in a similar way.
