View Full Version : Manifold Leak ??

I was doing some vacuum testing today and was getting real confused until I found that my vacuum manifold was leaking.

It is a Yellow Jacket Super-evac, the one with 2 ball valves and a compound gauge on top.

I finally found the leak by using pressure/N2 and some Snoop on the fittings. It has a tiny leak on the upper threaded fitting.

Anyone know what the red thread sealer is that Yellow Jacket uses? I doubt that it is regular Loctite?

I hate to take it apart unless I have to, will probably have to use heat and it could ruin the ball valve seats.

Any ideas on how to possibly seal it?

Thanks

I've used 'tru-blue' by Rectorseal on my manifold to seal the new gauges, i guess it would work ok on a vacuum manfold too.

Leak Lok or any good refrigerant proof seal will do it

Teflon will do the job very good.

Also cheaper.
