Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows about these units.
I need some info on one I am having a problem with. Tried contacting the company but they weren't too helpful.:(
I cannot access the controller, it is completely locked out. I am also looking for the refrigerant qty. Safeties are all set arse about face:eek: and the comps keep banging in and out goodo. So if I had the correct charge weight I could fill to factory.
Its a model MCA2000/4PP/3000H/TPP
R-407c @ +5 (dual circuit) 180Kw total. 90kw each
Cheers Lads.

They are the biggest pile of S*** there is out there and as you have found out their office is the most unhelpful of any manufacturer there is. They can't even tell you a basic thing like the refrigerant charge.
I once spent a few days and several phone calls trying to get the same information without much success.

There was no information on the unit itself only a model number, no refrigerant or charge. They told me all of their units are mad to order and not standardised like other manufacturers. Total bull**** if you ask me.

You are going to need patience and lots of luck.

Cheers Gibbo,

Couldn't agree more about unit & company. I got a snotty email when asking for info.
I did a few calculations and reckon about 11Kg per system.
Thanks for the reply though.

I work with one of the old tech guys from mercury, he reckons all units are made to order to suit the site or the customer, so the gas charge is most likely a one off, even tho they should have records!.
Oh and they are total wan*ers.

I have worked on there equipment a number of times for Bowling Alleys and for WH Smiths and you just have to hope everthing is fully operational!

To service them is very difficult because they rely so much on the control manufacturer such as Trend to switch everthing on/off

If the customer is lucky he will have a on/off switch and a thermostat to alter the temperature to + or - 4c from the setpoint which has been set in the control strategy

The control panel housing the fan, compressors, heater contactors will have no switches or indication to what is running or what is being called for.

The compressors (sometimes 4) are all located inside the package plant behind heavy doors and within the air stream.

No thought for service or maintenance - you have to stand in front of them for 30minutes to think which way the air is flowing across the unit due to the Fresh. air - exhaust air ,recuperator box and all the internal dampers opening and closing

Got to agree, they are the biggest pile of s**t i have ever worked on. We look after several sites that have these. We are having problem after problem with them on each of the sites:rolleyes:

I agree mecury are the worst company to deal with, took me 3 months to get a price for some replacment dampers, and controls being trend means you need a bms engineer to interogate as you cant get into the trend without trends set software which is only released to trend partners! Nightmare.
