hai all...
i would like to ask about what type of refrigerant to be used for cooling natural gas. since there are a lot of coding for refrigerant, it makes me confius which one should be use.

i would like to know what typ of refrigerant to be used, it might consist methane, prpane, ethane, butane, ethyene..
the technology we used is double mixed refrigerant.

ps: now im doin a design task which is compulsary for every chemical engineering student..sorry if my knwladge about refrigerant is low..i need ur help..

Do you know Oliver that with the power of an Internet search engine such as Google you will get almost 7000 replies to the title of your thread here.

A simple start from this site may get you started....

As for the refrigerant used, they use nitrogen.

hi Oliver...
u just want to cool the natural gas or want to liquefy it ?

for liquefy natural gas u must reach less than -150 C and use ARC (Auto cascade refrigeration ) or multistage cascade refrigeration technology.
in both of these u must have to use methane and other are as u wrote ethane, ethylene and propane.
