:p Hello, I have a 9' liquid nitrogen cooling tunnel. I want to disregard that. I want to intall conventional refrigeration to cool cookie doe. Going in at 49 F. Want to get it to 33 F. The most time we can give the conveyer is 5 minutes thru the tunnel (9'). My thought is to have a "walk in like" tunnel built on top of the existing conveyer and add refrigeration...what do you think. can it be done?

I'm curious as to why you want to change something that works. Is this change being contemplated due to the cost of nitrogen, or something else?

5 minutes is not a lot of time to cool something.

I've done some small research on this.
I'm also curious why you want to change it.
Very important factor: how many cookies do you want to cool/hour?
Like USIceman said, it could be that your tunnel will be too small to do this.

If air conditioner coil temperature is 0°F (-32°C) then you will have big problem to keep that coil free of ice.
Also peoples who should live in that home would have serious health problems.:eek:

Check you ideas against reality!;)

You install a liquid nitrogen reservoir outside the building.
You then connect a tube of 2 " to it inside your house at the ceiling.
At the end you install some nitrogen nozzles.
You open the valve on the reservoir and that's it.
Oh, don't forget to wear protective clothing and a oxygen mask.

Well that will certainly keep you cool until the ambulance arrives to transport the body to the local morgue.:D

Where do these questions come from?
