Mixing Refrigerants?

Hi!

AC unit running on R404a, in an emergency when 404 is unavailable for some time, would it be possible to top up with R22?

No, it won't work, properties are not similar enough

But Believe me, it shall run for quite some time. We too had a similar issue. It was not about the availability but mix up at site. & by accident R404A unit was charged with R22. We too in the office were anxious on this. But the unit kept running for quite long time. But before something could go wrong, we did put in the R404A.

yea ive heard of guys using 22 for 404 maybe try it on some peice of ****ty equipment
