Do you have any qualifications? I thought that to do a btec the person had to be qualified upto NVQ level 3 anyway. If that is the case then there is your answer.

No sorry i have no qualifications just time served 15 years, but was shown the way for a good 2 years by a qualified engineer of 30 years. When i was looking at training courses the btec is only theory and you only have to have gcse grades c to e. but what i really want to know will a btec pass the new fgas regs.

no it won't.

The only thing that will allow you to pass the f gas regs is if you do the new 2079 course which will be in operation this Sept.

Btec as you state is only a therory based course.
if you want to be recognised by the industry then you will need to do the NVQ.
You do not have to go to college to do them you could do it through distance learning.

But as far as f gas goes we all will have to to do the qualification.

Cheers taz.
