Does anyone know if theres a supplier other than HRP that offer a drip tray suitable for internal use (high wall mount unit going in a server room). HRP only offer an external tray which although could be easily adapted it's too short for my indoor unit which is 1030mm.

I've seen a few out in the field before made of metal not plastic, I wondered if they'd been fabricated one off's?

Cheers.

Normally yes, you get them made up to suit the equipment/space available.

I don't know of anyone who makes an aftermaret drip tray for indoor units as all indoor units are supplied with one fitted and it would be difficult to make a good looking tray to suit the many different sizes and styles of unit available.
I would suspect therefore that thse you have seen are one offs manufactured either because the units are in supersensitive areas (server rooms etc) or have already had problems.
Condensing unit trays are used in less 'sensitive' areas s don't have to be aestheically pleasing or fit the unit exactly as there is plenty of space. They are only there to stop the water from hitting a path or walkway where the water can cause a hazard if it freezes.
I would suggest that you contact a local tinbasher with the dimensions of the unit and get them to make one or if the unit is constantly dripping water find the root cause and cure it

Thanks guys. The application in question is actually a server room so aesthetics are of no importance. I'm fitting this as a secondary measure to a feed a pump in the unlikley event the main drain blocks etc. Thus any overspill is caught in the tray and fed to an alternate drain outlet via said pump (more so for the clients peace of mind as there a mains sockets immediately beneath).

The trays I had spotted were indeed fixed in server rooms. I'm relectant to get one made up as it could be costly, and was hoping somebody might know of a plastic tray supplier for a total length of 1030mm but
I'm sure i'll work something out.

Thanks anyway,

J.

Well, I tried a few local Fab-metal specialists with the dimensions, at first they all opted for the alluminium design with a quotes up to £280:eek:

I've got a chap who said he'd do it for his minimum chartge £85 out of sheet metal. Now I'm thinking sheet metal the cheapest way round this.

Paul. Does your duct specialist have any other branches....I'm take it their based out of London with those reasonable prices they'd have to be lol??

Dimensions are L=1030mm/D=300mm/H=35mm should any sheet metal workers want to make themselves want to make themselves
a nifty haha!

Cheers.

yeah we are similar, we actually have a sister company which happens to be sheet metal ductwork manufactures, if we require an indoor drip tray then we have them make it for us for that job as a one off, asthetics are never great but its there 9 times out of 10 to protect the servers if something goes wrong, not to look nice! the only thing you can do really is have it sprayed but they are still awful! in terms of price, i am not sure as i don't deal with financial side of things sorry!
