Any one else out there having problems with Vector's shutting down on codes for low suction superheat. Everyone I talk to says there are no problems and it is just the three this one customer has. Every time we see them the codes are inactive and the unit works great.

Any thoughts???

It could be the customer leaving the doors open. LSH can kick in when the evap ices up. As usual by the time you get there everthing's thawed out and working fine.

This is not an unusual problem. It is related to bad suction temp sensor or wrong adjusted expansion valve at the remote evaporators.

If the suction temp is reading roughly the same as ambient temp and compressor discharge temp when the unit has been shut of for a considerable lenght of time, then the suction temp sensor is good.

Check the clamps fastening the TXV temp sense bulb to the evaporator outlet on the remote evaporators. Tighten them up or alternatively add one more clamp. Insulate. If this is OK, then try to adjust the superheat adjusting screw 1/2 turn in. If the problem still exists adjust 1/2 turn more. I have needed to adjust two full turns in in some cases. Test by pulling the temp down to -25*C with the remote evaporator. Then check the compressor suction temp. It will normaly be roughly 0*C at 20-30*C ambient.
