We used last week a new sort of condensate pump - at least for us.

Most of the pumps we used in the past has to be connected to the PCB of the inside unit so that they receive a signal from the inside unit.

This pump has two temperature sensors which has to be mounted on the liquid and the suction line of the unit and that's it.
As soon the pump senses a difference - this will say that the unit is working - the pump starts. The pump keeps also running a while after shut down the inside unit.

I found this a very simple but very effective idea.

yes we're had peristaltic pumps with 2 sensor leads which sense a 5 deg difference (usually placed in flow/return air) will switch on the pumps for many years
