I have a site where we are responsible for the chillers.
Which has a Trend IQ 210 Controller.
Neither myself or the Building Services Guys are aware if it is functional or not.
After tracing the wiring I have managed to establish that the "volt free" chiller control circuit is disconnected.

Could anyone advise is it complicated or specialised to interrogate one of these controllers?

Or do you need specialised access equipment.

We produced few chillers were the customer wanted to have a Trend controller on them. The software is custom, but it is very easy to connect to them, provided you are supplied with the Trend hardware and software, which by the way is very expensive.

Thank You for responding.
I was beginning to believe that I had upset the guys here!

Generally, you would get a specialist Trend guy in who would write/adopt the Trend software for your specific needs.
You would also need a "specialist" interface to communicate with it, if you intend to go down to programme level.

Grizzly, you got a PM with the details of a good Trend engineer...

Viking.
Thank you for the help.
Details noted and a reply sent to you.
I am getting the impression this is like many other systems with "restricted access".
At least I know that now!
Once again thanks Grizzly.

does anybody have experience with doorway software? Can it be used to program a new controller from scratch? We want to do more bms and would really like to go with trend, but do not meet the minimum requirements to become a trend partner

Doorway could not be used to program Trend controllers. You need software called SET (System Engineering Tool) from Trend. There are some other ways of programming Trend controllers from scratch but I'm sure you wouldn't like to know about them.
