Hi Milton

If you are brazing refrigeration quality copper then you need high temperatures. The best solution is for an oxy-acetylene torch as these are controllable by selecting the correct nozzle for the job. On smaller pipes you can get away with using a blowtorch burning a propane/acetylene mixture.(sometimes called Mapp gas).

My favorite is the oxy/acetylene.

For what it's worth. I use a Uni-Weld oxy-acetylene rig with Captain hook tips. surrounds the pipe totally for high temp brazing, Also ahave an acetylene only tip (fits on a 00 tip for lower temp work and thawing Ice.

Hi Milton

For higher temperatures, use an oxy acetylene set up, or for smaller applications, MAPP gas fitted with a sure fire 2 torch
