Had quite a few call outs (about 4 in the last 2 months) for inverter split systems not working. These have ranged from Daikin, Mitsubishi and now Panasonic. All of these systems have so far been the victims of Gecko's crawling into the outside control board enclosure and getting fried by the high voltage produced in these systems.
The Daikin in particular almost went up in flames, with almost complete destruction of the board (and the gecko), luckily no other components or plugs were damaged.
The latest suspect is a Panasonic Inverter (CU-E9CKP5) It is giving an error code "F90" and corresponds to "Power Factor Protection".
I went outside and took a look and a ****roach had made it's home under one of the IC's bridging out two of the legs, but it had not fried, nor could I determine that it had been burnt due to the natural crispness and colour of the ****roach - although it's head did seem to be missing...
I removed the offender and tried the AC again, still comes up with the same error code.
Nothing else on the AC looks suspect, I'm on the verge of ordering a new card but just thought I'd see if anybody would know where the Power factor correction circuitry would be... I assume the outside board cause of the ****y, but I could be wrong.
Cheers for any help and has anybody else had problems with wildlife with these inverters running high voltage? If not why me?!
