Does anyone know of a fairly simple calculator that can help you work out the cooling capacity required in a room.

For college I need to design a cooling system but our teacher left before she could teach us how, any ideas?

Try Coolpack or even better use a text book and calculator.

Doing it the hard way teaches more :)

A rough guide is as follow but various other factors need to be taken into account like windows , heat load people , south facing etc etc.
Length in metres x height x width x 40 watts = total kw required to cool down area. Example 5m x 5m x 2m x 40w = 2000w /2kw cooling capacity . but the above factors will need to be considered.

Sorry for the error what i mean is that what we do is measure the width by length of the room and multiply by
70(btus)and it give you btus required.

Are you really too lazy to do the ground work.If we all had the help that was available on this site a good few years ago then you would not need to study at all. you could pass the exams no probs. Get a grip and do your studies like most of had to do and forget about what you are going to do at the weekend because if you are going to be good you won't be out at weekends anyway.
