I looking into building an enviromental chamber with an operating range of -60C to 150C that a client has expressed intrest in building. I'm looking into refrigerants to use, this also affects the way the system will be designed, be it cascade or multi stage. After some research I saw on the dupont website that 410A can be used as a replacement for R13. As I only need to get to -60C I was thinking that it could be right for a multistage system. I'm seriously consdering operating the system 410A as it has a few advantages. Its price and availbility, other low temp such as 23 and 508 are more pricey and not as readily available. Also the fact it would be multistaged. Rather than cascade.
Has any one out there had experience with 410A as a low temp refrigerant, either in a retrofit or new application. Any advice or feed back would be great!
