Dear All
Can anyone tell me the advanges and Disadvantages for using the aluminium cooling coils instead of copper coils in airconditioners?:)
I recently came across LG promoting airconditioners with this?

Their used in coastal areas where the air would have high levels of salt which would corrode the copper coils.

You worded this bass-ackwards.:D Copper fins are used in salty enviroments.

The logical bottom line for using aluminum is that it is less expensive.

totaly depends, are we going for weight or are we going for themar efficiency to size ratio?

for thermal eficiency to size copper wins, for weight alu wins.

Aluminum tube aluminum fins are predominantly used in Aut air conditioning as wellas Radiators. Carrier are using it for the condensers and been introduced recently around two years back in the indian Market.Aluminum is better material compared to steel for high moisture and salty areas especially seashores.
