I have a 2 1/2 year odl hotpoint FFA71 which basically has a constant build up of water and ice in the fridge section.

We have followed all the guidelines on where food should be stored etc.. and cant stop it occuring.

We have tried checking the drain hole using a flexible cable but it does appear to only go about half way down the back to about mid way on teh freezer. Is that the problem?

Any suggested remedy e.g. defrosting it?

Thanks

Dan

It could be as simple as a blocked drain.
Get a plastic drinking straw and push it gently into the drain. You could even try blowing down the straw to release the blockage.

When you do clear it pour half a cup of very hot water down the drain. When its all back to normal every six months pour half a cup of hot water down the drain to keep it clear.
Its a common fault.
