u9/ue daikin fault

hi.

have a problen with a daikin vrv k series system from time to time, i have a u9 being displayed on a central controller with all associated indoors flashing same and a ue on the time schedule,it resets then after a while .. pointers anyone?

U9:

system malfunction of tranmission between indoor and outdoor

systems being switched off at local spur's?
poor conections of comms wire?

U9 normally occurs when the outdoor loses comms with one or more of the indoor units.

Most probable causes are:

1 - Indoor isolator switched off to one of the fan coils
2 - Comms wiring taken through the high float limit switch on the cond. pump

As it's flashing all of the indoors on the central controller, you should look at the indoor ring main power supply and also the 2 core interconnect wiring between the outdoor and the first fan coil.

The UE fault code indicates a break in the comms between the central controller and the indoor unit.

Try to trace the wiring or install a temporary 2 core to eliminate the problem

does the system have any 'add on' pcb's installed?
