WIth the impending phase out of certain *****s

I am noticing a distinct lack of action among plant owners.

in my trade it's mostly large R-22 plants (800Kg of refrigerant and up).

Now we are under two years away from import stop here in norway, but nobody is asking about alternative refrigerants and nobady is asking for price quotes on new plants.


anyone else seeing this trend?


I'm guessing that even if they were informed of this more than ten years ago, it's still gonna come as a shock on them...

I think the problem is being grossly under est. by larger companies with a large stake in equipment running on HCFC's.

I think the "let's see what happens when it get's here" phase is a bad choice myself but hey.

But Norway is not part of the EU, so what’s happening with HCFCs in Norway in 2 years?

Is this a ban on import only? On new Refrigerant or recycled?

What’s happening with the refrigerant tax?

It would be helpful to know where your country differs from the EU laws.

We pretty much follow the EU regulations.

Building new R-22 plants are forbidden.

in two years when the import of R-22 stops, we can still reclaim and clean f***** from decomissioned plants and use this to refill other systems.

My guess is that next year the tax on *****s will increase conciderably.

exactly, I think most of the larger companies might be expecting that the rules will be bent because of the huge investments that will be needed by many, but I think when we roll around to 2010 it's gonna hit them square in the face when they realise that they werent that special after all :)
