Is the site running at full speed?
For the last few days I have been timed out, had long waits, continuously having to reload the site because of freezing and not being to able to edit threads because it times out.

Is anyone else suffering any of the above.

Cheers taz.

I have had the occasional hang-up. It appears to be doing this due to something about syndication, Google, etc. I see this in the bar at the bottom of the browser window.

If the browser window hangs-up for more than a few seconds a quick refresh usually does the job.

taz,

Yes, all the time. It gets a little annoying. I usually have to restart IE.

We discussed this topic a while ago, about the time Webram started to incorporate the Google ad's.

Most people agreed that they got better connections and speed using Mozilla Firefox instead of IE. It might be worthwhile giving it a try.

I don't mind the minor irritations :)
and now that I know, I can tolerate it :D.

I just did not know if it was my system only:p.

Cheers taz.

I've used IE since its inception and never had a problem.

Just like our business, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.;)

When you run a site as 'busy' as this on a 386 with 2 meg of Ram from a council house in the Gorbels it's unlikely to be
a, stable
b, fast,
c, reliable

It really needs to be properly hosted -but then again thats always been the case...But as it doesn't particularly pay it's unlikely to happen.

Blaming IE is merely a red herring and not exactly helpful.....

mmm, considering the site is hosted in Birmingham on a reputable server .... your statement smacks of Luddite tendencies ..

I have found this site, and other forums very slow on IE, I have since used both Safari (PC) and Firefox, both work well with this forum and others I use and have had problems with in the past.

Common link = IE.

Fact, and hopefully helpful for others.
