Hi Guys.
Now correct me if i wrong!
Do you guys still trace leak test?
I mean bit of r22 liquid, get pressures to about 40psi on both sides then up it with ofn?
then leak test with halide and soap?
been using it for ages and finds 99% of leaks
but worring if it still legal.
Herd somewhere that it was ok to use. proves you are using method to stop a future leak.:)

No, sorry, as your last instructor should have told you, that is not legal.

Any intentional venting of refrigerant is a NO-NO.

Do you like prison food? if not stop doing it that way or you are likely to end up living on it.

Definately illegal unless you recover the refrigerant and nitrogen and send it for disposal, somehow I do not think so.
