That site is full of employment consultants and they seem to be a waste of time, they do things like advertise jobs that dont exist to get you on their data base and they will usually exagerate wildy about remuneration and work conditions just to get you to go to an interview , is it just NZ or are all job consultants like that

Hmm thanks for the heads up, for me pay is not the issue, as where I'll be staying we'll be pretty self sufficient, I just need to get help moving there, once there I'll happily work for 9pH to start I can't expect much more till I got a local drivers licence, I'd be in-shop type of work.
Then I'd start taking local courses and get all Nz certs. for me it is a matter of getting the foot in the door sort of thing.

Where in NZ are you moving too ? be a bit carefull coming here it might not be all you expect it to be, after workin in aussie and nz id say aussie has to be the pick of the 2 ,theres more good employers ,and the aussies are usually top blokes and i made lots of friends , i only came back for family reasons, NZ is tied up in to much legislation and Ive seen a lot of good foreign guys get the hump, the fridge quals for other countrys are not usually the problem its the restricted electrical thats the problem and you cant do any service work without one and word has it this year they are going to get really strict

Trust me here in Canada we have red tape for the red tape, and to get the red tape you need to sign form B34 but to get form B34 you have to have the red tape!
I'd be moving to Wellington, and as far as all my research things are a tad easier there then here, you still have all the red tape, just less catch 22s.
Not to mention I'll have funds monthy sent over, and due to exchange rate I should have enough to last a good while, while I try to get the certs and liscanse and such.

We're just looking to book flights for a second visit to NZ to see our friend. We last went about 4 years ago.
At that time, the exchange rate was 3.65 NZ dollars to the UK pound. Now its around 2.5 NZ dollars to the pound.
When you consider it was about 3NZ dollars for a loaf of bread, it's looking really expensive now

Yes some bread is expensive but most places sell the $1.30 bread , the big ticket items at the moment are dairy products ,budget cheese is $14 a kg ,milk is $2.80 a
litre, and the big shock potatoes are $1 a kg , only my mate paddy is worried about potatoes prices.
would be cool to meet up with some of you folk if you come over

Are you North or South island Winja?
We'll be going first to Christchurch, over to see Milford Sound then make our way up to the North Island and on up to Warkworth for a few beers with a good mate.
Will we pass you on the way?

Prices are pretty high here too for food, so again I'm used to high food costs, I been plotting this for a good number of years now.

We can go on comparing stuff all day , but I know for a fact your woman are better than ours, even the Aussies have better chicks than us , so it might pay to bring your own or get one from oz on the way over:D

You could try looking on
dubdubdub.trademe.co.nz (i cant post links yet)
Its like a New Zealand version of Ebay, they have a jobs section in there aswell, try a few differnt key words to get best results. Otherwise lookup on google.co.nz for some company websites. To list a few try McAlpine Hussmann, Cowley Refrigeration or Climatech. They are some of the bigger but not necessarily better company's in New Zealand.
