Hi,

We are in Eastern Canada, wanting to use HP receivers built in France mostly and Europe. Are such pressure vessels designed according to ASME Pressure Vessel code? Or, what codes and standards are used in Europe for pressure vessels applications of HP receivers for commercial industrial refrigeration? Lastly, I'll have to demonstrate/certify that the standards under which these European HP receivers were built meet or exceed the requirements of ASME. Have anyone experienced such an assignment? In addition to actual pressure tests, would you have any suggestions?

Count on the fact that any input would be much appreciated... Best regards,

Vessels built in Europe are produced according to PED directive, namely Directive 97/23/CE.
ASME more concerns about material and specification, while PED draws the attention on criteria for certification and safety, so I think you can't compare ASME with PED. Anyway, if you want to make your mind up yourself, please download the directive for free at Eurlex website at this address http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CONSLEG:1997L0023:20031120:EN:PDF

All refrigeration systems in Europe are covered by the standard EN378.
