Hi guys

Just woundered how you guys would you write out a elactrical check on for example a normal cassette split.
Step by step like,on indoor and outdoor.

Yeah sorry guys on a service visit,got to write a portfolio on service visits.but wanted to go a bit in depth if possibble.

A few basic pointers for you

2-4 scheduled visits per annum.



Report to management and enquire of any current faulty equipment.
Investigate equipment to ascertain extent of repair required – fix or report on time sheet.
Establish which internal units require to be stripped down (filter, fascia, drain tray, pump, fan assembly clean all parts, brush out electrical PCB’s and flush through evaporator coil with proprietary cleaner, re-assemble and run on test.
Check and clean all indoor unit air filter (s)
Check indoor coils are clean and free from debris or damage mist spray with coil cleaner.
Ensure free rotation on fans and wipe clean fan blades.
Check outdoor coils are clean and free from debris or damage, spray clean as required.
Check refrigerant circuits for evidence of leaks ie oil deposits.
Check wiring circuits for deterioration or loose connections adjust repair as necessary.
Check operation of equipment ie test run on heating and cooling.
Check operation and condition of safety devices and cut outs adjust as required.
Check condition / operation of replaceable filters and fan belts * see note
Check operation of condensate pumps adjust/flush or replace as required.
Carry out full operational checks of all controls, adjust as necessary.
Refrigerant charge estimation for F’Gas Regulation
Following the visit you should produce.


Service record.
Report that will indicate any remedial parts required,+ defects in the systems or any extra work that is required or could not be completed due to access restrictions.

Coolment has found a straightforward checklist for this type of equipment as a method statement.

I would also add:


A summary of your health & safety policy and a basic risk assessment of what you intend to do.
Your company's Hazardous Waste policy and any relevant registration numbers. Unless your client's company is exempt, you will also need his registration number.


Electrical safety checks should include details of your test equipment calibration.

That should cover you.
